Diablo Rojo XL Auto by Sweet Seeds

Diablo Rojo XL Auto is a showpiece from the Sweet Seeds Red Family. Around 85% of plants develop red to purple, compact flowers coated in copious resin, and the whole run takes about 8 weeks from germination.

The aroma is sweet and fruity with forest berries, cola soda, citrus and incense. THC is listed at 16–23%, carried by a happy, creative effect that loosens the body without sedating it.

Plants grow to 50–120 cm (20–47 in) and return 400–500 g/m² (1.31–1.64 oz/ft²) indoors or 50–150 g (1.8–5.3 oz) per plant outdoors. The resin-heavy buds also make it a strong candidate for extraction.

Lineage: Dark Devil Auto × Strawberry Cola Auto

Diablo Rojo XL Auto (SWS110) combines selected plants of two red-flowered autoflowers: Dark Devil Auto (SWS38), with its Hindu Kush purple heritage, and Strawberry Cola Auto. The cross locks in the intense red hues during bloom and boosts the fruity terpene profile.

The genetic balance is 56.9% Indica, 40% Sativa and 3.1% Ruderalis. Sweet Seeds reports that the strain has already collected two awards, and it serves as a parent of the newer Diablo’s Delight XL Auto.

Aroma, Flavor and Effect

Open the jar and a wave of wild berries and sweet cola hits first, followed by a bright citrus edge and a subtle incense background that gives it a unique twist.

On the palate it is intense and pleasant, like a glass of cherry cola poured over crushed raspberries next to a smoldering incense stick. Sweet, fizzy and fruity, with a smoky finish.

Sweet Seeds describes the effect as stimulating, happy, relaxing and creative. It sparks imagination and conversation while the body relaxes comfortably without feeling heavy. Music, art, writing and social evenings all fit it well.

Growing Diablo Rojo XL Auto Indoors and Outdoors

As an autoflower, Diablo Rojo XL Auto blooms on its own with no 12/12 switch. Run 18/6 or 20/4 from germination to harvest, about 8 weeks in total, and sow into the final pot from the start to avoid transplant setbacks.

The plant is vigorous with an Indica-style frame and abundant side branches. Indoors, light LST spreads the branches under the lamp and supports yields of 400–500 g/m² (1.31–1.64 oz/ft²). Cooler night temperatures in the last weeks can deepen the red and purple coloring.

Outdoors, it fits gardens and balconies at 50–120 cm (20–47 in), producing 50–150 g (1.8–5.3 oz) per plant in full sun with good soil. Resin output is high, so trim leaves can be saved for hash or rosin.
