Sour Diesel Auto puts one of the most recognizable fuel strains in American cannabis history on a fast track. Barney’s Farm crossed the classic Sour Diesel with its own BF Super Auto #1, and the result finishes in 65–70 days from seed while keeping that sharp, unmistakable diesel nose.

The plant is 60% Sativa and 40% Indica, with THC measured at 24%. That is serious potency for an autoflower, and it comes with a clear, energetic character rather than a heavy couch lock.

Height stays practical at 90–120 cm (35–47 in) indoors, which fits most grow tents without special tricks. Yields are generous for such a short cycle: 500–600 g/m² (1.64–1.97 oz/ft²) indoors and 230–300 g (8.1–10.6 oz) per plant outdoors under good conditions.

The aroma is loud from mid-flower onward: raw diesel, lemon peel and resinous pine. Carbon filters earn their keep with this one.

The flavor hits pine and citrus first, then the diesel rolls in thick and stays on the palate. It is like squeezing a lemon over a freshly cut pine plank in a gas station forecourt: sharp, clean and unapologetically pungent.

Growing Sour Diesel Auto Indoors and Outdoors

Keep the lights on 18/6 or 20/4 from seed to harvest. Like every autoflower, it begins flowering by itself after a few weeks of vegetative growth, so there is no switch to 12/12.

Indoors, sow directly into a final pot of around 11 to 19 liters (3 to 5 gallons). Gentle LST in the early weeks evens out the sativa-style branching, and removing a few large fan leaves around week 4 improves light penetration. Feeding needs are moderate; this plant does well on a balanced bloom diet without pushing EC hard. Aim for 500–600 g/m² (1.64–1.97 oz/ft²) in a well-lit room.

Outdoors, plants reach 100–140 cm (39–55 in) and produce 230–300 g/plant (8.1–10.6 oz/plant). Pick a sunny, sheltered spot, and remember the smell: neighbors will notice in late bloom. Two harvests per season are realistic in warmer US regions.
