Dark Devil Auto pairs the size and yield of Big Devil XL Auto with an exotic purple autoflower from the Hindu Kush. Around 95% of plants finish with deep purple flowers, and the whole cycle runs about 8½ weeks from germination.

Resin coats both the buds and the surrounding leaves, carrying a sweet, fruity scent with incense and citrus. THC is listed at 15–20% with 0.9% CBD, and the effect balances mental stimulation with body comfort.

Lineage: Big Devil XL Auto × a Purple Chitral Autoflower

Dark Devil Auto (SWS38) uses a selected line of Big Devil XL Auto (SWS28), one of the breeder’s most popular autoflowers, as its base. Sweet Seeds crossed it with a purple-flowered autoflower whose ancestors come from Chitral, a mountain region of the Pakistani Hindu Kush close to the Afghan border.

The Chitral side brings the purple pigment, sweeter aromas and a slightly faster bloom, while Big Devil XL Auto keeps the vigor and yield. The final balance is 55% Sativa, 40.3% Indica and 4.7% Ruderalis, and the plant belongs to the breeder’s Red Family of colorful strains.

Aroma, Flavor and Effect

The bouquet opens sweet and fruity, then reveals smoky incense, warm spice and a refreshing citrus streak. Woody hints add depth, and the scent hangs around long after the jar is closed.

The flavor is layered and long-lasting, like dark plums and orange zest burned on a bed of sandalwood. Sweet first, then spicy and resinous on the finish.

Sweet Seeds describes the effect as psychoactive and relaxing. The head gets a vivid, uplifting stimulation while the body loosens into a smooth, comfortable calm, a balanced mix suited to evenings with music, film or good company.

Growing Dark Devil Auto Indoors and Outdoors

Dark Devil Auto flowers automatically, so no 12/12 switch is needed. The breeder recommends an 18 to 20 hour light cycle indoors, so run 18/6 or 20/4 from germination to harvest, about 8½ weeks in total. Sow straight into a final pot of around 11–19 liters (3–5 gallons).

The plant shows strong hybrid vigor from day one, with a sturdy central stem, many side branches and a big main cola. Indoors, LST in the early weeks brings the side branches level with the top and helps reach 400–600 g/m² (1.31–1.97 oz/ft²). A carbon filter is wise once the incense notes develop.

Outdoors, plant after the last frost in full sun. At 80–130 cm (31–51 in), it produces 50–200 g (1.8–7.1 oz) per plant in good soil, and cool nights near harvest intensify the purple coloring.
