RS 54 x Permanent Marker is the daytime member of the Permanent Marker family. Candies Seed Co describes a candy-forward profile backed by gas, paired with a balanced, social effect that is easy to rotate and easy to enjoy. It keeps the Marker character without asking you to clear your schedule.
It sits in the Signature Funk line, the Permanent Marker route of the Collector Series VOL.1. Most crosses in that line lean heavy and nocturnal, so this one stands out: the breeder rates potency High rather than Very High and pitches it squarely at daytime sessions.
RS 54, sometimes called Rainbow Sherbert #54, is a Deo Farms selection from Oakland, popularized by Wizard Trees and descended from Sunset Sherbert; sources disagree on its other parent. It is known for sweet, fruity sherbert notes with a gassy undertone. Permanent Marker comes from (Biscotti x Sherb BX) x Jealousy, bred by Seed Junky Genetics’ JBeezy and released by Doja Exclusive, so both sides share Sherbert-family roots.
Packs contain 5 feminized photoperiod seeds. Flowering runs 8-10 weeks and yield is rated Medium by the breeder. It is a terp-first cultivar: grow it for the candy-gas nose and the easygoing effect.
Flavor, Effects, and Candy Gas
Open the jar and sweet candy and berry come out first, with a tropical, sherbert-like brightness. Underneath, gas and a hint of Permanent Marker’s soapy funk add depth so the sweetness never turns flat or one-dimensional.
The smoke tastes sugary up front and finishes with fuel, a combination growers often describe as sherbert gasoline. It is aromatic enough to fill a room but friendlier on the nose than the heavier PM crosses.
Candies Seed Co lists it as ideal for daytime use. RS 54 is associated with creative, euphoric and talkative effects, and the breeder calls this cross balanced and social. Expect a lively, upbeat mood with enough body to keep it grounded.
Picture an afternoon with friends, a creative project or a long walk with a good playlist. High potency still deserves respect, but this is the PM cross built for staying engaged rather than winding down.
