Grounded Genetics

What is Grounded Genetics

Grounded Genetics is a cannabis breeder based in Barcelona, Spain. The team works almost entirely with lines they have bred, hunted and selected in-house, often across several generations, and many of their releases carry parents, grandparents and even great-grandparents from their own program. The focus is on loud, distinctive terpenes, dense and colorful flowers, and resin that performs both in the jar and in the wash bag.

Breeding Approach and Key Parent Lines

Grounded Genetics builds most crosses by selecting a female keeper and pollinating it with a reversed keeper from another proven line, producing feminized seeds. A handful of parent lines appear again and again:

Peach Guava

Bred from Peach Limeade (Pink Limez x Taco Colada) and Key Lime Guava (Rainbow Guava x TMZ), Peach Guava was selected for washing potential and abundant glandular heads, and it reliably passes on fruit-forward terps and hash-making qualities.

Blucci and Ultraviolet Sherb

Blucci began as a Blue Sherb and Jealousy line that delivered dark, rock-hard, sherbet-scented flowers, later boosted with RS11 for yield. Ultraviolet Sherb grew out of Designer Sherb (Sunset Sherb x Runtz), a near-black, fizzy sherbet keeper that was also refined with RS11 for structure and production.

Ozark, Zunami, PapayaDawg and Z Road

Ozark is the breeder’s OZK selection crossed with their Gelato 41 x Sherb BX1 male, a palate-staining candy gas cut. Zunami pairs the original Zkittlez with that same male, and it led to Zerberry. PapayaDawg contributes loud tropical papaya gas and washing ability, while Z Road, an unreleased cut from Barcelona’s legacy scene, blends candy Z with fuel-heavy OG.
