Gelato 45 is Barney’s Farm’s selection of the famous Gelato #45 cut, bred from Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. After careful selection, the breeder settled on a 60% Indica / 40% Sativa feminized hybrid with 27% THC that is forgiving enough for growers of every experience level.

It is also very versatile. The plant adapts to a wide range of growing techniques, from simple soil pots to trained, high-yield SCROG setups, and rewards attention with heavy harvests.

Indoors, Gelato 45 reaches 100–120 cm (39–47 in) and yields 650–750 g/m² (2.13–2.46 oz/ft²) after 65–70 days of flowering. Outdoors it grows into a large plant of 180–250 cm (71–98 in), producing 1500–2000 g/plant (52.9–70.5 oz/plant) in the first or second week of October.

Late in bloom it puts on a real color show, with deep purple sugar leaves, fading reds and orange tints set against lime and olive green fan leaves.

Gelato 45 Lineage

Sunset Sherbet contributes a sweet, fruity, creamy profile, while Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies brings mint, chocolate and the strong resin output of the Cookies family. Barney’s Farm grew out the cross and picked the phenotype that showed the most balanced structure and flavor.

The 60/40 Indica-leaning balance gives a strong, robust plant with good branching and medium height indoors. The Sativa side shows in the uplifting start of the high and in the plant’s vigorous outdoor growth.

The buds are dense and orbital, swelling steadily in the final weeks. Lime green calyxes, deep purple sugar leaves, bright amber pistils and a golden layer of sticky trichomes make for striking bag appeal.

Aroma, Flavor and Effect

The aroma is sweet and creamy, reminiscent of mint-chocolate ice cream, with fruity sweet berry notes alongside. It is a dessert-style bouquet that fills the room in late flowering.
