Green Poison XL Auto is the tall-stemmed edition of Green Poison Auto, one of the most popular autoflowers Sweet Seeds has released. It keeps the same quick, roughly 8-week cycle from germination, but the plants grow larger and carry more flower.

The breeder developed it through recurrent selection across several generations, always choosing the tallest Green Poison Auto specimens. The result grows around 25% taller than its ancestor, reaching 80–125 cm (31–49 in), with higher flower and resin output to match.

That extra size translates directly into harvest weight. Indoors, yields climb to 450–600 g/m² (1.47–1.97 oz/ft²), and outdoor plants can produce 60–250 g (2.1–8.8 oz) per plant, a noticeable step up from the original compact version.

THC sits at 15–20% with only trace CBD, and the flavor keeps the Green Poison signature of sweet fruit and soft Skunk while adding savory accents of arugula and walnut that make it stand apart.

How the XL Version Was Developed

Green Poison Auto (SWS30) itself comes from Big Devil #2 Auto crossed with the Green Poison clone, then backcrossed to that clone. For the XL line, Sweet Seeds did not bring in new parents; instead it repeatedly selected the most vigorous, tallest individuals and bred them together generation after generation.

This keeps the genetic makeup identical on paper, 56.9% Indica, 40% Sativa and 3.1% Ruderalis, while pushing stem length, branch spacing and overall bud mass. It is still a third-generation auto with the same dependable timing.

Aroma, Flavor and Effect

The aroma is sweet and fruity, resting on a sweet Skunk base that fans of the original will recognize. What sets the XL apart is a fresh, peppery green note reminiscent of arugula and a toasty, nutty hint of walnut.

The flavor follows the nose: candied fruit on the first pull, then a savory, slightly bitter green edge and a nutty finish. Think a fruit salad tossed with arugula and crushed walnuts, sweet but grown-up.

Growing Green Poison XL Auto Indoors and Outdoors

Because it is an autoflower, there is no photoperiod switch to plan: keep the lamps on 18/6 or 20/4 from the day the seedling breaks the soil until harvest. Plan on around 8 weeks from seed to harvest and start in the final container, roughly 11–20 liters (3–5 gallons), to give the XL root system room to work.

Indoors, the 80–125 cm (31–49 in) stature benefits from tying the main stem down in week three so side branches rise into an even canopy. Fewer plants per square meter than the regular version is usually enough. Expect 450–600 g/m² (1.47–1.97 oz/ft²) under strong LEDs.
