Zmäkdaun by Seedstockers

Zmäkdaun is a Seedstockers outdoor feminized strain purpose-built for wet, cool and unpredictable climates. Bred from Erdbeer and Dutch Treat, it combines extreme mold resistance with an early outdoor finish and big harvests of up to 1 kg per plant.

The seeds are feminized photoperiods, so every plant is a flowering female that blooms naturally as the days shorten. It grows tall and vigorous, develops a massive main cola with strong side branches, and needs very little training to fill out.

Flowering takes about 8–9 weeks, and plants finish outdoors by late September, early enough for northern regions. Expect heights of 150–250 cm (59–98 in) and yields of 600–1000 g (21.2–35.3 oz) per plant in open soil.

The breeder lists a 1st Best Rosin award at the Home Grown Cup Winter Edition and a 2nd Best Indica at the Home Grown Cup, so Zmäkdaun brings quality as well as toughness.

Lineage: Erdbeer x Dutch Treat

Erdbeer, whose name means strawberry in German, brings a sweet, fruity streak. Dutch Treat contributes the earthy, hash-like depth and the resilient genetics that have served Dutch outdoor growers for decades.

Seedstockers selected this hybrid for outdoor performance in challenging climates: mold resistance, an early finish and rock-solid reliability. The result is a plant that keeps producing in seasons where many other strains give up.

The aroma is a deep, earthy musk with herbal notes and a hint of sweet fruit. It is subtle rather than loud, which many outdoor growers appreciate.

Zmäkdaun is built for the outdoors. Plant it in open soil, give it a sunny spot, and let it grow naturally; it will develop a massive main cola and strong laterals that need little intervention. Plants reach 150–250 cm (59–98 in) and yield 600–1000 g (21.2–35.3 oz) each, finishing by late September, which suits the northern US and other areas with early autumn rain.

Even with its strong mold resistance, a smart habit adapted from the breeder’s own advice is to shake heavy rain off the main colas after storms. No strain is fully immune to bud rot in very wet conditions, and a few seconds of shaking keeps the flowers drying fast.

Indoors, it works but is not where it shines. Under LED lighting, expect around 450–550 g/m² (1.47–1.80 oz/ft²), and plan for plenty of vertical space because the plant is tall. Most growers get the strongest results by keeping Zmäkdaun outside in open ground.
