Slush Mint Cake is a heavyweight from Dutch Passion’s USA collection: an indica-dominant hybrid with 23-27% THC on average, 2-2.5% terpenes and rock-hard, snow-white buds that look like a winter wonderland under a loupe. It took the Mostly Indica category at the 2025 Highlife Cup, and one whiff explains why.
She comes from a breeding project by Antonio, a breeder with dozens of cannabis cup wins and one of Europe’s top independent collections of elite genetics. The mother is a Slurmint selected from a Slurmint IX hunt, itself a cross of the cup-winning Slurricane (Purple Punch x Do-si-dos) and Platinum Kush Mints. That Slurmint was crossed with the award-winning Ice Cream Cake.
Expect a vigorous plant with large leaves on unusually long stems, a fair stretch for 2-3 weeks after the flip and an XL yield. Indoors she produces about 500 g/m² (1.64 oz/ft²), and a well-filled SCROG can push 600-650 g/m² (1.97-2.13 oz/ft²). Outdoors in a warm, sunny climate, plants yield 0.5-1 kg (17.6-35.3 oz) per plant.
Bloom takes a relatively quick 8-9 weeks, and the buds are so dense they practically trim themselves.
Flavor, Effects, and Serious Cali Potency
This is a loud strain. The nose blends sweet candy, creamy ice cream and sour fruit with a gassy, stinky Cali punch that some phenotypes push to GMO-level intensity. Others lean toward the Ice Cream Cake side, fruitier and closer to forest berries swirled with cream. In a joint or a vaporizer, the flavor holds strong from first pull to last.
Limonene, linalool, caryophyllene, myrcene, humulene and pinene lead the profile, with notable fenchol and terpinolene and traces of camphene, ocimene, nerolidol and menthone. Around half the plants also show a bit of geraniol. Total cannabinoids average around 30-35%, a rare match for that terpene load.
The high is powerful, long-lasting and body-forward, with a euphoric, uplifting head buzz on top. In moderate amounts it relaxes without making you sluggish; overdo it and it can land a knockout punch. It suits an evening of movies or gaming after dinner and is best for experienced consumers.
Growing Slush Mint Cake Feminized Seeds
Slush Mint Cake is not the most predictable plant, so she rewards experienced growers most. Her leggy, stretchy habit makes her ideal for SCROG: fill the net well and her harvest potential is impressive. LST and HST also help keep her in check. Remove some leaves in tight indoor spaces, as those long-stemmed fans can crowd the canopy.
Late in bloom the colas get top-heavy and can bow under their own weight, so plan for nets, yo-yos or rope. Keep humidity around 40-50% RH with strong airflow, because the buds become truly rock-hard. She tolerates cooler 16-22°C (60-72°F) rooms, though that can slow ripening; aim for 20-25°C (68-77°F).
Outdoors, grow her only in warm, dry, sunny climates. She handles 30-35°C (86-95°F) heat with ease, which makes the dry Southwest and inland California good matches. In wet, cool regions, her dense buds are prone to mold, so use pots you can move or a ventilated greenhouse. Pre-growing indoors before the season starts boosts outdoor results.
