Walk into almost any Amsterdam coffeeshop and you will find an Amnesia Haze on the menu. For decades, this sativa-dominant line has ruled the Dutch market, and Amsterdam Amnesia is Dutch Passion’s take on the original, sourced from the city’s underground scene. It is a true connoisseur haze that also happens to be easy to grow and very productive.
The numbers back up the reputation. Amsterdam Amnesia averages around 20% THC and can reach 25% in good conditions, and her long, full colas are noticeably denser than most sativas. Together that adds up to an XXL yield of 500-600 g/m² (1.64-1.97 oz/ft²) that most growers can reach without special skills.
On top of that, she skips the marathon bloom of traditional hazes. Where old-school sativas can need 12-14 weeks, Amsterdam Amnesia finishes in 9-11 weeks, about 10 on average. That fast finish has made her a go-to for home growers and commercial producers alike.
Lemon-Haze Flavor and an Energetic High
The aroma is pure classic haze: fresh and spicy with a sweet-sour citrus edge and a strong lemon note that tells you immediately this is Amnesia. It is very pungent, and the flavor matches the smell closely in a joint or vaporizer. Dutch Passion lists beta-caryophyllene, limonene, terpinolene and beta- and alpha-pinene as the dominant terpenes.
The high is powerful and long-lasting, led by a strong energetic, uplifting and creative head rush. It is social and euphoric, and at times dreamy, trippy and a little racy. There is some body effect, but the head clearly dominates. It is a great match for active days, though less suited to inexperienced consumers; overdo it and even this sativa can knock you down.
Growing Amsterdam Amnesia Feminized Seeds
Amsterdam Amnesia is a medium to large plant with slender sativa leaves that let light reach the lower branches, and Dutch Passion notes strong resistance to spider mites. She stretches considerably once flowering begins. Even with a short veg, indoor plants easily reach 100-150 cm (39-59 in), so plan for height and train early.
She responds very well to training. Topping and FIMing widen the canopy and lift yields, while LST, bending and snapping, and even supercropping help control height. For maximum production, Dutch Passion recommends a SCROG: keep bending and tying branches to form an even canopy so every cola gets similar light. A SCROG with a long veg of 6-8 weeks can fill an entire room, while a SOG with many plants and short veg shortens the overall cycle.
Feed lightly at first and increase gradually. Haze plants often look lighter green than indicas, but if leaves turn pale yellow, raise the nutrient dose and add nitrogen. Organic nutrients or slow-release options such as BioTabs make things easy for beginners and bring out the best flavor. Outdoors she is a giant: plants of 3-4 m (118-157 in) are common in warm, sunny or tropical climates, yielding up to 1.5 kg per plant (52.9 oz/plant). She is not suited to temperate or cooler regions.
