Mandarin Cookies V2 is a reworked edition of one of the signature lines from Ethos Genetics. This feminized photoperiod grows like a champion, with colorful, flavorful flowers and loud aromas of cutie mandarins, grapefruit, grapes, gas, and hash. Ethos rates her Total Active Cannabinoids in the 25-33% range, and she finishes in 60 to 63 days.
The V2 version of the Mandarin Cookies strain adds even more citrus and a welcome hit of gasoline by moving away from the Forum Cut toward the much chunkier, OG Kush-heavy Ethos Cookie #12. The result is a denser, more stacked flower with standout bag appeal and a nose that fills the room, a modern highlight of Ethos cannabis genetics.
Lineage and the V2 Update
The cross is Ethos Cookie #12 x Mandarin Sunset R1. Ethos Cookie #12 is a chunky, OG Kush-heavy cookie selection that replaced the Forum Cut used in earlier versions, adding density and gas. Mandarin Sunset R1 brings the bright mandarin citrus and vibrant color the family is known for.
V2 simply marks the second version of the line rather than a generation code. The change of cookie parent was deliberate: Ethos wanted chunkier flowers, more citrus, and more fuel, and the V2 delivers on all three while keeping the easy growth and loud terps that made Mandarin Cookies popular.
Aroma, Flavor, and Effect
The aroma bursts with cutie mandarins, sweet and juicy, followed by tangy grapefruit and a ripe grape note. Underneath, gas and hash add depth and a sticky, old-school edge. Terpene tags for fruity, gassy, and orange-grapefruit describe her well.
The flavor matches the nose: sweet mandarin and grapefruit on the inhale, then gassy, hashy richness on the exhale. Colorful flowers and loud terps make her as appealing in the jar as she is in the garden.
Ethos classes her as a classic hybrid. Expect a bright, cheerful lift that settles into a balanced, comfortable body feel. She suits social afternoons, creative projects, and easygoing evenings.
Growing Mandarin Cookies V2 Indoors and Outdoors
She shows exquisite flower structure: medium-sized, dense, and stacked, with perfectly spaced internodes and a low leaf-to-calyx ratio that makes trimming easy. Her growth is strong and apex-heavy, so light training helps spread the canopy. She performs well when topped often, but avoid topping within 10 days of the flip.
She can stretch quite a bit in flowering, though the stretch is controllable with early topping, LST, and a SCROG net. About 20% of plants come out half-height, yet those shorter plants can produce very colorful and flavorful flowers. Flowering runs 60 to 63 days.
Indoors, greenhouses, and outdoor gardens are all listed as ideal environments. Outdoors, give her full sun and steady airflow to protect her dense flowers. Ethos tags her for intermediate and pro growers who can manage her stretch and apex-heavy growth.
