Snow Bud is a mountain-tough outdoor strain from Dutch Passion’s High Altitude family, bred for growers who face cold nights, damp air and changeable weather. It combines Afghan Indica with South African Sativa landrace genetics, and the selection work was carried out over several generations in the Swiss Alps, the same place where its sister strain Pamir Gold was adapted.
The result is a Sativa-dominant hybrid, roughly 60-75% Sativa, that borrows cold tolerance and a quick finish from the Afghan side and the ability to handle humidity from the African side. The name comes from the dense blanket of white pistils and trichomes that makes the tops look freshly snowed on.
Dutch Passion rates THC as very high. Most plants flower in about 8 weeks and reach 150-200 cm (59-79 in) outdoors, while indoor rooms yield around 350-400 g/m² (1.15-1.31 oz/ft²).
Flavor, Effects, and Snow-Covered Colas
The aroma is classic and pungent: skunky, earthy and spicy, simple but very seductive. The taste is mainly spicy and piney, at times sweet and at times slightly bitter, and attentive smokers pick up hints of cinnamon and honey. The smoke is smooth and gentle on the throat.
The high is mostly in the head. Snow Bud gives a happy, energetic buzz of medium strength with only a light physical relaxation in the muscles, never a heavy body stone. That makes her a good fit for daytime or early evening, when you want to feel relaxed yet still motivated. As always, a large dose or low tolerance can make things more intense.
Visually she is a Sativa: large, slender leaves with around 11 thin fingers, sometimes 13, and long buds packed with white hairs. Some flowers foxtail, and the flower-to-leaf ratio is favorable for trimming.
Growing Snow Bud Feminized Seeds Outdoors
Snow Bud practically grows on her own. She forgives beginner mistakes with feeding, watering and climate, and shows good resistance to mold, mildew and bud rot. Average internode spacing leaves small gaps between buds so air can move through them, which helps in damp mountain conditions and makes her a solid guerrilla plant both at high altitude and at sea level.
Outdoors, flowering runs about 8 weeks and harvest falls at the end of September or early October. Some phenotypes finish in around 7 weeks; in very cold weather others need about 9. Starting her indoors for an early vegetative boost can push outdoor plants to 250-300 cm (98-118 in), and prepared soil with organic nutrients helps guerrilla plants stay strong.
Left untrained she forms a Christmas tree shape with a dominant main cola and long side branches. Top or FIM her to control height. Indoors she works in hydro, Autopot-style semi-hydro, soil and under LED. Use a SCROG with a slightly longer veg for a few plants, or a SOG where you remove the lowest 2-4 branches to focus energy on the main bud. Indoor yields average 350-400 g/m² (1.15-1.31 oz/ft²) and can reach 450 g/m² (1.47 oz/ft²) in ideal conditions.

FAQ
Is Snow Bud suitable for growing in the mountains?
Yes. Snow Bud was selected over several generations in the Swiss Alps. The Afghan genes add cold resistance and the African Sativa genes help with humidity, so she handles changeable mountain weather well.
When is Snow Bud ready to harvest outdoors?
Flowering takes about 8 weeks, so outdoor plants are usually ready at the end of September or in early October. Some phenotypes finish in around 7 weeks, others need about 9 in very cold weather.
How tall does Snow Bud grow?
Most outdoor plants reach 150-200 cm (59-79 in). With an early indoor start she can grow to 250-300 cm (98-118 in). Topping or FIM keeps her lower.
Is Snow Bud good for beginners?
Yes. She is very forgiving with nutrients, watering and climate, and her resistance to mold and bud rot makes her a reliable first outdoor plant.
What does Snow Bud taste like?
Mostly spicy and piney, with a skunky, earthy aroma. Some plants add sweet or slightly bitter notes, and hints of cinnamon and honey can come through.
Can Snow Bud be grown indoors?
She can. Indoors she does well in hydro, semi-hydro, soil and under LED, yielding about 350-400 g/m² (1.15-1.31 oz/ft²), up to around 450 g/m² (1.47 oz/ft²) in ideal conditions.
