Some strains are named for their looks or their smell. Euforia was named for how it feels. Dutch Passion discovered this Sativa-dominant plant during a 1990s Skunk selection program, the same program that produced Skunk #1, Orange Bud and Skunk #11. She first stood out for long, resin-soaked buds and solid yields, and once tested, her clear, energetic and euphoric up-high sealed her place in the collection.

Decades later she is still a bestseller with a large group of repeat growers. This is the feminized photoperiod version, so every seed grows into a flowering female. Euforia also has trophies to show for it: 1st prize at the 2002 Highlife Cup and 2nd prize at the 1999 High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam.

THC is high, around 20% in good conditions, and so is production. Dutch Passion rates Euforia XL, with indoor harvests of 400-600 g/m² (1.31-1.97 oz/ft²) on average. Flowering typically takes about 8-9 weeks, and a few phenotypes ask for one extra week, time that pays off because the buds swell dramatically in the final stretch.

Euforia grows with a Sativa-leaning frame: tall, wide, with strong, long branches that fill with long, fused colas. Flowers as long as your forearm are not unusual, so plan on support near the end of bloom.

Aroma, Flavor, and the Euforia High

Like the great original Skunks, Euforia is loud. The aroma is spicy and earthy, with heavy Skunk notes that easily push through a zip bag, plus fruity citrus and pine and, on some plants, a woodier tone. The flavor is fresh and very skunky, less sweet than other Dutch Passion Skunk selections, carrying citrus, herbs, earth and pine. Some plants even reveal faint cinnamon, vanilla and caramel.

The effect is exactly what the name promises. It is mainly mental rather than physical: a happy, very clear and uplifting high that boosts creativity and lets the mind wander, without putting you on the couch. With THC around 20%, it is strong and lasts a long time. Many people enjoy it in the morning or during the day, and it is a great way to recharge after a long week.

Growing Euforia Feminized Seeds

Euforia is robust and easygoing, which makes her a good choice for beginners and for growers who want a reliable strain beside more demanding plants. She does well in organic soil, coco or hydro; organic soil and nutrients bring out the most pungent aroma and flavor. Start feeding gently, since Sativa-leaning plants usually dislike a heavy diet in the early weeks.

With short-to-medium internodes and strong branches, she accepts topping, FIMing, bending, snapping and supercropping. For SOG, keep veg short and run many plants. For SCROG, use fewer plants in large pots. She also clones easily and makes an excellent mother plant. Expect noticeable stretch after the switch to 12/12.

Euforia was bred for indoor growing but also thrives in greenhouses and in warm, dry, sunny climates such as the Mediterranean. There, plants average 2-3 m (6.6-9.8 ft) and finish in early to mid October; with long veg in warm sun, plants beyond 3.5 m (11.5 ft) are common. In cooler, northern latitudes she may not finish until late October or early November.
