Pure Sativas are loved for their high but often feared in the grow room: unpredictable stretch, fussy feeding and endless bloom times. Desfran Auto is Dutch Passion’s answer. By crossing the legendary jungle Sativa Desfran (Destroyer x Destroyer) with the Sativa-leaning Auto Daiquiri Lime, the breeders kept the bright South American head high while packing it into an easy, compact autoflower.
Despite two Sativa-dominant parents, the plant stays surprisingly small, usually around 1 m (39 in) tall, with short, thick branches, large leaves with slender fingers and short to medium internodes. Bud sites stack together into a heavy main cola, and the flowers finish firm, sticky and wrapped in only a few thin sugar leaves.
This auto has also been selected for toughness. Dutch Passion highlights good resistance to mold and bud rot and lower susceptibility to pests and disease, which makes her a fit for outdoor beds, greenhouses and even low-maintenance guerrilla spots, as well as indoor tents under LEDs.
Aroma, Flavor, and the Sativa High
Desfran Auto’s terpene profile is layered and unusual. Most plants open with a sweet-and-sour tropical skunk scent lifted by lemon, apple and pear, while some phenotypes add spicy notes of clove and aniseed. Smoked or vaped, the flavor turns fruity, sweet and earthy, and the skunky backbone tends to be a little louder in the taste than in the jar.
She is pungent, especially late in bloom and during harvest, so a carbon filter and solid extraction are strongly recommended.
The high is what she is prized for. Expect a fast-hitting, long-lasting, clear-headed up-high that is euphoric and energetic, close to a pure Sativa experience with minimal body weight. Instead of a trippy or paranoid edge, it leans toward focus and drive, which makes it a good match for creative work, chores, social events and daytime sessions, including a morning wake and bake.
Growing Desfran Auto Indoors and Outdoors
Like all autoflowers, Desfran Auto does not need a 12/12 switch. Indoors, run 18/6 or 20/4 from seed to harvest. Her Sativa heritage makes her slower than a typical auto: allow about 12-14 weeks from seed, roughly 90-100 days indoors, with smaller pots producing smaller plants that finish slightly faster.
She does fine grown naturally with no special techniques, which makes her a handy Sativa for tight spaces. Her compact, Indica-like frame also suits a sea-of-green for maximum yield per square foot. If a plant grows larger than planned, bending, snapping or light supercropping flattens the canopy, and LST helps in very low-headroom tents.
Germinate directly in the final pot to avoid transplant stress and get the biggest plant possible. Indoors, Dutch Passion puts yields at 450-500 g/m² (1.47-1.64 oz/ft²).
Outdoors, plan on 100-115 days from seed to harvest, and up to 1-2 weeks more in cooler or wetter regions. She can go in the ground or in containers, and does especially well in a greenhouse or hoop house, where the highest outdoor harvests are achieved. Typical outdoor yields are 25-100 g per plant (0.9-3.5 oz/plant). Warm, sunny summers suit her well, yet her robustness also lets her cope with more temperate US climates.

FAQ
What is Desfran Auto crossed with?
Dutch Passion crossed the photoperiod Desfran (Destroyer x Destroyer) with its Sativa-dominant Auto Daiquiri Lime to create an autoflower that keeps the Desfran high.
How long does Desfran Auto take from seed to harvest?
About 12-14 weeks. Indoors, plan for roughly 90-100 days; outdoors, 100-115 days, with up to 1-2 weeks more in cooler, wetter areas.
What kind of high does Desfran Auto give?
A strong, clear and energetic Sativa up-high that is euphoric and focused, with very little body heaviness. It suits daytime and social use more than evenings.
How tall does Desfran Auto grow?
Usually around 1 m (39 in), with some smaller phenotypes. Smaller pots keep plants shorter and can speed up the finish slightly.
Is Desfran Auto good for outdoor and guerrilla growing?
Yes. She was selected to be robust, with good resistance to mold and rot and lower susceptibility to pests and disease. Greenhouses and hoop houses produce the largest outdoor plants.
