Mimosa x Orange Punch is the next step in Barney’s Farm’s Mimosa evolution: a compact, fast-flowering hybrid that backcrosses Orange Punch into Mimosa EVO. The payoff is candy-sweet orange flavor, dense purple-tinged buds and THC tested at 30%, all on a plant that finishes in just 55-60 days indoors.

Genetically it leans 65% Indica and 35% Sativa. Compared with Mimosa EVO, the plant is noticeably shorter and stockier, yet Barney’s Farm reports that it keeps the same high production. Indoors it reaches 90-110 cm (35-43 in) and yields 650-750 g/m² (2.13-2.46 oz/ft²); outdoors it grows to 150-180 cm (59-71 in) with around 1,500 g (52.9 oz) per plant.

As a feminized photoperiod strain, it produces female plants for a full canopy of resin-dripping colas. Barney’s Farm counts it among the most colorful entries in its Cali Collection, with deep purple gradients that show up as the plants ripen.

Mimosa x Orange Punch Lineage

This hybrid comes from a further backcross of Barney’s Farm’s Orange Punch with Mimosa EVO, the breeder’s 2020 release that itself combined Mimosa and Orange Punch. Doubling down on Orange Punch concentrated the tangerine-candy terpenes and tightened the plant’s structure.

The result is a sturdy, extra-compact plant with large, heavy buds covered in bright orange pistils and thick trichome coverage. Barney’s Farm describes it as an indoor grower’s dream, because it packs a lot of weight into very little vertical space.

Aroma, Flavor and Effect

Barney’s Farm attributes the scent to a blend of beta-caryophyllene, linalool and limonene. The aroma is sweet and mandarin-heavy with a sugary candy edge, and it grows stronger through the final weeks of bloom and into the cure.

The flavor follows the nose: citrus, candy and orange, smooth and sweet on the exhale. It tastes like a handful of orange hard candies with fresh mandarin zest, with linalool adding a gentle floral lift.

The effects are described as euphoric, happy and uplifting. Expect a cheerful, upbeat head with a settled body feel from the Indica side. At 30% THC, it is a potent strain that experienced consumers will appreciate most.

Growing Mimosa x Orange Punch Indoors and Outdoors

Indoors, this hybrid flowers in just 55-60 days after the switch to 12/12. At 90-110 cm (35-43 in), it suits small tents and sea-of-green setups, and a light SCROG or a round of topping helps spread the heavy colas evenly. The buds are dense, so keep humidity low late in flowering and maintain strong airflow.

Outdoors in good conditions, plants reach 150-180 cm (59-71 in) and can produce around 1,500 g (52.9 oz) of compact colas each. Barney’s Farm lists the harvest for the third to fourth week of September in the Northern Hemisphere, an early finish that helps growers dodge autumn rain.

Harvest is easy work: the buds are dense and heavy, which makes them quick to manicure, and cooler night temperatures in late bloom can bring out more purple color.
