Insane OG by Barney's Farm

Insane OG is a collaboration with real history behind it. Barney’s Farm teamed up with B-Real of Cypress Hill and his Dr. Greenthumb brand to create this feminized strain, the product of a friendship that started in Amsterdam coffeeshops in the 1990s and a shared love of old-school terps.

The genetics read like a hall of fame: OG Kush, Bubba Kush and Granddaddy Purple, blended into a 75% Indica / 25% Sativa hybrid rated at around 32% THC. The profile is kushy, gassy and unapologetically old school.

Indoors, plants reach 100–120 cm (39–47 in) and can produce up to 600 g/m² (1.97 oz/ft²) in 55–65 days. Outdoors, they grow to 150–250 cm (59–98 in) and can yield up to 2,000 g/plant (70.5 oz/plant).

OG Kush brings the fuel and the classic West Coast backbone. Bubba Kush adds density, earthy depth and a heavy body. Granddaddy Purple contributes a fruity, grape-tinged sweetness and extra resin. The three-way blend gives Insane OG its layered, old-school character.

The flowers show forest and sage green tones laced with bright orange pistils, all buried under a heavy blanket of glistening trichomes that catch the light from every angle.

Aroma, Flavor and Effect

The aroma starts with an earthy, gassy, diesel base and an old-school Kush funk, then opens into fruity notes of ripe berries and grape. It smells like a vintage muscle car parked in a vineyard.

On the palate, earth, gas, black pepper and spice take the lead, with a light lemon brightness that keeps the flavor evolving as the session goes on. Barney’s Farm credits a terpene trio of caryophyllene for pepper, limonene for zing and myrcene for earthy depth.

Its frosty, resin-rich buds need good airflow and controlled humidity in the final weeks. A strong carbon filter is a must for the gassy aroma, and a slow dry and cure helps preserve the old-school Kush and grape notes that make this collaboration stand out.
