Jack 47 by Sweet Seeds

Jack 47 is a Sativa-dominant super hybrid from Sweet Seeds, sold under variety code SWS08. It builds on Jack Herer, one of the most celebrated Sativa-leaning genetics of all time, and pairs it with another potent classic to create a vigorous, high-yielding plant with sweet citrus, orange, and incense aromas.

Thanks to its genetic freshness and hybrid vigor, Jack 47 grows with extraordinary energy, produces big buds dripping with resin, and adapts to just about any growing technique. It even makes strong, healthy clones that show roots in only 7 days.

Indoors, it yields 500–600 g/m² (1.64–1.97 oz/ft²) after a flowering period of about 9½ weeks. Outdoors, Sweet Seeds describes maximum production, with large plants capable of spectacular harvests. The breeder credits Jack 47 with 5 trophies so far.

Jack 47 Genetics and Lineage

Jack Herer brings complex aromatics, incense-like Haze tones, and a bright, cerebral character. Its partner in this cross is a classic, potent hybrid known for productivity and stability. Combined, they produce a strain at 75% Sativa and 25% Indica with remarkable vigor and genetic freshness.

THC ranges from 18–24% with around 1.6% CBD. Despite its Sativa dominance, Jack 47 finishes with large, compact buds densely covered in resin, giving it a reputation as easy to grow for a Sativa.

Aroma, Flavor, and Effect

The bouquet is sweet, fresh, and citrusy, with a lemony brightness and a thread of incense running through it. Orange and mandarin notes add juicy fruit, while an exotic mango undertone gives the profile real depth. It is like a bowl of tropical fruit set beside a smoldering stick of incense.

The flavor mirrors the aroma: sweet citrus on the inhale, mango and mandarin through the middle, and a soft incense finish.

The effect is powerful and complete. It opens with a stimulating, euphoric rush that energizes the mind, then gradually evolves into a deep, pleasant physical relaxation. It works well for creative afternoons that slide into relaxed evenings.

Growing Jack 47 Indoors and Outdoors

Indoors, expect large, vigorous plants with an open structure and long lateral branches. Topping and a SCROG net help manage the Sativa stretch and turn those branches into a level canopy of big colas. Flip to 12/12 early, as the plant will grow considerably in the first weeks of flower, and plan on about 9½ weeks of bloom.

Jack 47 adapts to every kind of growing technique, from SCROG to multi-topping and mainlining. Its cuttings root in only 7 days, which makes it a strong candidate for growers who like to keep a mother plant and work from clones.

Outdoors, this is where the strain shows its full potential. In full sun with rich soil and generous room, plants grow large and deliver heavy harvests. Strong stakes or trellising help the long branches carry their resinous buds through the end of the season.
