King Louis Garcia by Growers Choice Seeds

King Louis Garcia, also called King Gar-See-Ya, is a cross of the original King Louis and Cherry Garcia. The project began when a Canadian friend of Growers Choice selected an outstanding King Louis phenotype in his grow room. Growers Choice then sent over a male clone of the original Cherry Gar-See-Ya, and the two were paired up to create this feminized hybrid.

King Louis itself comes from OG Kush crossed with LA Confidential and is known for a crushing, body-heavy effect. Cherry Garcia is equally strong but with the opposite character: vibrant, energetic and mood-lifting. King Louis Garcia brings both sides together in a 70% indica / 30% sativa plant with THC of 30%+.

Indoors, it flowers in just 8 weeks, reaches 80–120 cm (31–47 in) and yields 750+ g/m² (2.5+ oz/ft²) with the right techniques and feeding. Outdoors, plants grow to 150–200 cm (59–79 in) and are ready at the beginning of October.

Flavor and Effects of King Louis Garcia

The official flavor profile is fresh lime, pine and earthy tones. The King Louis side adds spicy, earthy lemon and classic kush, while Cherry Garcia layers on fruity, sweet and candy-like notes. The result is a complex mix in which the zesty lime and pine stand out first, followed by a sweet cherry-candy finish.

Think of a lime squeezed over a pine-wood cutting board, with a bowl of cherry candy waiting at the end of the table. Every pull brings a slightly different balance between fresh, earthy and sweet.

The effect reflects both parents. A happy, energetic lift from Cherry Garcia comes first, putting a smile on your face, before the heavy King Louis body effect takes over with a deep, almost immobile heaviness. At 30%+ THC, this is a strain for experienced consumers and late evenings.

Growing King Louis Garcia Indoors and Outdoors

Although it is mostly indica, King Louis Garcia grows like a 50/50 hybrid: bushy, with long side branches covered in buds and a solid main cola. That shape makes it an excellent candidate for topping and LST, and it handles intensive training well without slowing down.

Indoors, the plant stays at 80–120 cm (31–47 in). Top once or twice in veg, then spread the long side branches under a SCROG net to create an even canopy. With the right feeding and training, yields of 750+ g/m² (2.5+ oz/ft²) are achievable in only 8 weeks of flowering.

Outdoors, King Louis Garcia grows to 150–200 cm (59–79 in) and finishes at the start of October. High mold resistance gives it a margin of safety in cooler, damp late-season weather, and the long branches benefit from support as the buds gain weight.

Keep the canopy open and well ventilated during late bloom, and use a carbon filter: the kush and pine aroma is strong.
